6-Day Moroccan Journey: From Casablanca to the Sahara Desert

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day exploring Casablanca’s key attractions, including the awe-inspiring Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, and the vibrant Corniche. Enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in Casablanca.

Day 2: Casablanca to Fes

After breakfast, depart for Fes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and start exploring the city. Visit the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), the Royal Palace, and the vibrant souks. Wander through the narrow streets of Fes El-Bali (Old Fes), a UNESCO World Heritage site, and discover the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University. Spend the night in Fes.

Day 3: Fes to Merzouga via Midelt

Leave Fes in the morning and journey through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in the charming town of Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco, and continue through the cedar forests of Azrou, where you might spot Barbary apes. Have lunch in Midelt before continuing to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, switch to camels for a trek into the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner and spend the night under the stars in a luxury desert camp.

Day 4: Merzouga to Todra Gorges and Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness a stunning sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, begin your journey to the Todra Gorges, passing through the Ziz Valley and Erfoud. Take a walk through the towering canyon walls of the Todra Gorges before continuing to the Dades Valley. Check into your hotel and relax, surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of the valley.

Day 5: Dades Valley to Ouarzazate via Skoura

After breakfast, explore the Dades Valley and its spectacular rock formations. Continue your journey towards Ouarzazate, stopping in the Skoura oasis along the way. Visit the historic Kasbah Amridil and enjoy the lush palm groves. Arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara,” and visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah. Spend the night in Ouarzazate.

Day 6: Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou

On your final day, leave Ouarzazate and head towards Marrakech. Stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a historic ksar (fortified village) and popular filming location. Explore the ancient kasbahs before continuing through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, passing the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon, where your unforgettable Moroccan adventure concludes.
